Recruiting Platform Tyrol
For more than 30 years, the career competence has offered a professional platform for recruiting, employer branding and image enhancement. What began in the founding year of 2008 with 15 exhibitors has grown into Western Austria’s largest career fair with over 100 exhibitors and numerous additional offers. The exhibitors are networked with students, graduates and young professionals from the fields of economics law, technology, natural sciences, humanities social sciences at the university and technical college location of Tyrol.
With around 30,000 students, 125 degree programs and approximately 4,000 graduates annually, the University of Innsbruck is a market for potential employees in Austria that employers cannot afford to neglect. In addition to the University of Innsbruck, there are 7 other universities in Tyrol (Medical University of Innsbruck, UMIT – Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology, MCI – Management Center Innsbruck, Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, FH Gesundheit, University of Teacher Education Tyrol, Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule – Edith Stein), which have approximately 10,000 students. The 8 Tyrolean universities are joined together in Campus Tirol.
Over 2,000 students, graduates, (Young) Professionals visit the career competence every year. On average, 24% of the visitors are graduates/young professionals. Approx. 76% are students – 40% of whom will complete their studies in less than one semester. The proportion of STEM students/graduates has been increased to almost 30% in recent years through targeted marketing measures. An important aspect to meet the demand for skilled workers in these fields of education.

Since 2007, the three best students from each course (at the Faculty of Business Administration) have been included in the Top Performer Pool of the SoWi-Holding. The Top Performers are a pre-selection of highly qualified students whose achievements go beyond the study-relevant requirements. Top Performers stand out from their fellow students both in terms of technical and communication skills and are therefore sought-after discussion partners among the participating exhibitors.

Marketing Strategy
The career competence is advertised at the university locations in Tyrol with several flyer campaigns. The focus is on the SoWi (Social and Economic Sciences Faculty), the Campus Technik and the main university. This ensures that there is a balanced ratio of the fields of study of the visitors at the fair.
These measures are accompanied by the placement of some posters (approx. 100) at the universities and other student hotspots. In addition, the cc is present on all important university campuses with mobile 16/1 sheet poster walls from one month before the fair. In addition, all students of the University of Innsbruck are informed several times via newsletter about the career competence and a separate Top Performer newsletter is sent to a selection of highly qualified students.
In addition to these direct channels, numerous online marketing measures are implemented and the promotion of the fair via Facebook, Instagram, TikTok YouTube is of particular importance. Through numerous successful cooperations, including with student organizations, the fair can also be advertised in a target group-specific manner. Furthermore, the master lounge is advertised with flyers in several places in Innsbruck and several online campaigns are launched.
