BeSt – Fair for Career, Studies and further Education

Austria’s largest career and educational fair in Klagenfurt The BeSt (the catchy short form stands for “career, studies and further education”) is organized by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the Austrian Public Employment Service and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016. The aim of Austria’s largest educational event is to show young people different perspectives when planning their education and career, to offer them information on possible training focuses and to make it easier for them to find their way on the job market. The offer is aimed not only at young people and young adults, but also at parents who want to support their children in choosing a career: More than 110 exhibitors at the BeSt offer comprehensive information on important topics such as apprenticeships, Matura (school leaving exam), studies and career entry over three consecutive days. Questions about stays abroad, scholarships, specific courses of study, professional fields and labor law issues are also dealt with professionally and in detail at the educational fair.

Varied Supporting Program

The BeSt – fair for career, studies and further education also impresses in Klagenfurt with a versatile and needs-oriented supporting program. In addition to classic information stands, visitors can expect a mix of lectures, workshops and interactive activities that cover a wide range of topics. Whether it’s about specific training paths, career orientation or further education opportunities – the varied offer provides exciting insights and practical assistance for every target group.

Interaction in Focus

The aim of the BeSt in Klagenfurt is not only to provide trade fair guests with comprehensive information, but also to actively involve them in the dialogue. Competent advisors are available for individual discussions to answer questions and offer tailor-made solutions for the respective situation. It is not just about imparting knowledge, but above all about an interactive experience that is tailored to the personal needs of young visitors. Through this focus on interaction, the BeSt becomes a platform that not only offers orientation, but also inspiration.

Workshops and Stage Program

The extensive supporting program of the BeSt Klagenfurt also invites visitors to get actively involved. The moderated stage program offers varied contributions on relevant topics such as apprenticeships, specific professional fields, youth coaching and application strategies. This is complemented by interactive workshops and discussion rounds that give participants the opportunity to contribute their own questions and concerns. The aim is to show visitors tailor-made approaches for their professional and academic future and to actively involve them in their decision-making processes.

Organization of the
BeSt – Fair for Career, Studies and further Education

The BeSt (fair for careers, studies and further education) is organized by SoWi-Holding at the university locations of Innsbruck and Klagenfurt on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the Austrian Public Employment Service.

SoWi-Holding (founded in 1985) has more than 40 years of experience in the dialogue between theory and practice, university and business. Following the PINN-Karriere Tage, which were successfully organized by SoWi-Holding from 1999 to 2003, the career & competence fair has been held in Innsbruck since 2008, and the master lounge has also been held there since 2016.  The SoWi-Holding has been organizing the career & competence fair since 2008, and since 2016, it has also organized the master lounge in Innsbruck.
