The MASTER Lounge
… the event focused on master degree programs
West Austria’s largest career fair, the CAREER & Competence, can boast another innovation next year: in 2021 the MASTER Lounge will take place for the fourth time during the event. The new event, which is all about master degree programs, offers interested parties comprehensive information on the wide range of master programs offered in Austria and abroad.
The addition of the MASTER Lounge to the CAREER & Competence trade fair program offers numerous advantages, especially at the strong business and university location of Innsbruck. On the one hand, the capital city of Tyrol is home to an extraordinarily large number of students and, at the same time, there are many well-known local companies interested in training and educating their staff as well as they possibly can.
The focus on master studies within the CAREER & Competence not only serves to inform visitors on site about existing education and training offers but also creates important networks, creating synergies for students and alumni as well as employers, employees and exhibitors.

This is why you should take part in the MASTER Lounge
At the MASTER Lounge 2021 2,000 to 2,500 visitors are expected, who are interested in further vocational or education advancement. As part of the Career Fair CAREER & Competence, the MASTER Lounge offers some decisive advantages for exhibitors: On the one hand, innovative courses of study can be advertised at the event, which are currently particularly popular in the universities’ further education program. The same applies to lesser-known master courses, which can be accentuated and presented at the Master Lounge.

The MASTER Lounge target group
The MASTER Lounge target group is not only limited to undergraduates and graduates who want to continue their education. Employers and employees from the fields of recruiting, personnel development and further education can benefit from the information offered, too. The Master Lounge program is tailored exactly to the profile of the visitors of CAREER & Competence and thus offers an ideal supplement to the fair program.
In 2016, 1968 students, graduates and (young) professionals attended the 9th CAREER & Competence. Of the visitors, 25% were graduates / young professionals and 75% students, 40% of whom were to graduate in less than a semester. Through targeted marketing measures, the proportion of STEM students / graduates has increased to almost 30% in recent years, which has helped to meet the great demand for skilled workers in these areas. Present your company as an attractive employer to your target group and get to know qualified and well-prepared future employees.
Marketing, media cooperation and organisation
The MASTER Lounge is advertised at university sites in Tyrol with several flyer campaigns, with the focus on the SoWi (social and economic sciences), the technology campus and the main university site. This ensures that there is a fair balance between the fields of study of the visitors at the fair. These measures are accompanied by the placement of some 100 posters at the universities and other student hotspots. In addition, from one month before the fair, the MASTER Lounge is present at all important university campuses with mobile 16/1 sheet billboards. Additionally, all students at the University of Innsbruck are informed about the CAREER and Competence several times via newsletter, and a separate Top Performer Newsletter is sent to a selection of highly qualified students. Additionally to these direct channels, numerous online marketing measures are set up and the advertisement of the fair via Facebook plays a special role in the process.
Through numerous successful cooperations with student organisations (e.g. AIESEC, Club Alpbach, GLOBART …) the fair can be advertised to specific target groups.
Furthermore, the MASTER Lounge is advertised with flyers in several places in Innsbruck and numerous online campaigns are run.
Media cooperation with basics. Media
With the newspaper basics. the MASTER Lounge has a strong partner which has a circulation of 243,000 copies, most delivered to every household in Tyrol every two weeks. One of the main topics in the journal is careers (and job offers) along with education, which is why the articles on C&C published are particularly effective.
As early as 9 months before the fair, editorial contributions on the fair are published in regular intervals. In the intensive advertisement phase, short editorial profiles of the exhibitors are published and highlights of the fair are featured.
Organisation of the MASTER Lounge
The MASTER Lounge is held and organised by SoWi-Holding. As a successor of the the PINN Career Days, which were organised with great success from 1999 to 2003 by the SoWi-Holding , the CAREER & Competence has been organised since 2008. The SoWi-Holding (founded in 1985) has more than 25 years of experience in bringing together theory and practice, university and business. It regularly organises the BeSt³ (fair for jobs, studies and further education) on behalf of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, Research and Economy as well as the Employment Service Austria) at the university sites of Innsbruck and Klagenfurt.
